Barbara Jean Johnson, age 80, of Cokato, passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020.
A memorial remembrance will take place at a later time, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Barbara was born Aug. 8, 1940, in Minneapolis, to Paul and Irene. Barbara grew up in Cokato. She graduated from Cokato High School in 1958.
Barbara worked at Green Giant, Coast to Coast, and the University of Minnesota.
She spent time at home gardening fruits and vegetables, and feeding the birds and the those pesky squirrels. She enjoyed spending family time on the pontoon at the lake, many antique car shows and tours, also, collecting rare, antique stuff.
First and foremost, Barbara was a homemaker and cook, sharing recipes with friends and relatives. Nobody left her house hungry.
She was a member of the Cokato Evangelical Lutheran Church, and cooked for many church activities.
Barbara was a loving mother raising three children. With all the activities that coincide and being a grandmother, spending time spoiling her grandson was precious to her.
Don’t grieve for me now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Irene.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Phillip; children, Robbin (Jim), Jeffrey, Amee (Loren) Pribyl; brother, Robert “Bill,” and grandson, Mathew.
