Donald C. Kadrie, age 84, of Watertown, passed away Friday Aug. 14, 2020, at his son’s home in Lester Prairie.
A memorial service will take place Friday Aug. 21, 2020, at 4 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia, with Chaplain Ron Wipf officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Honorary urn bearers were Jessica Werner, Staci Harris, Jeremy Lewis, Amanda Kizer, Samantha Trible, Jared Kadrie, and Dan Helmbrecht.

Don was born Nov. 24, 1935, in Roseau, the son of Sid and Della (Kuchynka) Kadrie. At the age of 13, Don moved in with his aunt and uncle, Christine and Charlie Trebesch.
Don was baptized and confirmed in the faith. He was a quiet believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Don joined the United States Army at age 18. He actively served the country he loved from May 1954 to May 1956.
Don was united in marriage to Pearleen Kronbeck in Hawley, June 22, 1957.
Don drove truck his whole life. He was most proud of his 30 years of faithful service with SuperValu. Back in the day, Don liked tending to his vegetable garden. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gambling, and loved a cold beer.
Don loved helping others, always putting everybody else first. He had a determined personality, doing whatever he thought was right, even if other people advised against it. His witty humor will be dearly missed.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Pearleen Kadrie; parents, Della and Sid Kadrie; brothers, Clemen Kadrie and Leroy Nelson; and brother-in-law Clifford Hedeen.
Don is survived by his loving family: daughter, Kim Amiot and special friend, Tom Zais of International Falls; sons, Scott and Terri Kadrie of Montrose, Christopher and Bobbi Kadrie of Lester Prairie; grandchildren, Jessica Werner and special friend Robert Little, Staci and Wade Harris, Jeremy Lewis, Amanda and Nick Kizer, Samantha and Andrew Trible, Jared and Emilee Kadrie; great-grandchildren, KariAnn, Emily, Kyle, Hunter, Tanner, Ashlynn, Tyler, Kendra, Mady, Khloe, Laila, Jameson; brothers and sisters, Yvonne Hedeen of Watkins, Carol (Bob) Thorton of Savage, Joe (Barb) Kadrie of Riverview, FL, Bev (Eldon) Becker of Glencoe, Roger (Laura) Nelson of Waconia, Marvin (Joyce) Nelson of Richmond, MN; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Sally Sorensen of Watertown, SD, Jeannie (Kendall) Ewing of Norwood Young America; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
