Virgil Edward “Bones” Kegler, age 82, formerly of Lester Prairie, passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, at Prairie Senior Cottages in Hutchinson.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial for Virgil “Bones” Kegler will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted next spring. Inurnment will take place at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

He was born April 2, 1938, in Lester Prairie, the son of Edward and Emily (Dolezal) Kegler.
Virgil E. Kegler and Mavis Ann Brelje were joined in holy marriage Aug. 22, 1959, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with four children. Mavis preceded her husband in death June 7, 2018.
Bones was employed as a machinist for many years at Honeywell, Sterners, and Schwartz Manufacturing.
He enjoyed deer hunting, watching the Twins and Vikings, trips to Mexico, hanging around with friends, and spending time with his grandkids.
Bones formerly played a lot of baseball and softball.
He belonged to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
He is survived by his children: Michael (Barbara) Kegler of Lester Prairie, Vicki (Francis) Roufs of Winsted, Mark (Connie) Kegler of Annandale, and Bradley Kegler of Lester Prairie; grandchildren: Matthew Kegler (Stewart), Samantha (Chris) Kegler Hanson, and Tracy and Courtney Roufs (Brandon); great-grandchild: Eleanor Kegler Hanson; sister: Mary Ellen Loew of Litchfield; other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Francis and Darrell.
