Margaret Kritzeck, 76

Margaret Jane “Margie” Kritzeck, age 76, of Winsted, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, at The Gardens at Winsted.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place Saturday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Matthew Wiering will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

A visitation will take place Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Chilson Funeral Home two hours prior to Mass.

Casket bearers will be Jesse Cafferty, Mac Cafferty, Kevin Cafferty, Mark Otto, Chris Pahl, Dave Meuleners, Keith Bobrowske, and Aaron Miller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Winsted Veterans Memorial, a project of the Winsted American Legion Post. Make checks payable to: Winsted Post 407/Memorial, PO Box 468, Winsted, MN 55395.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, we ask that all attendees abide by social distancing regulations and practice safe precautions by wearing a mask if planning to attend the visitation and/or service.

She was born May 26, 1944, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Bryan and Eleanore (Dusoski) Cafferty.

Margie graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1962.

Margie Cafferty and Kenneth J. Kritzeck were joined in holy marriage Sept. 3, 1966, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Margie acquired her auto mechanic abilities while working with her Dad at Bryan’s Service.

Margie was formerly employed at 3M for many years, and H & R Block. Margie and Kenny were also foster parents.

She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, and listening to country western music. Margie loved volunteering.

Margie was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

She belonged to the Winsted American Legion Auxiliary and was a past president, Winsted Lions Club, 2 Cylinder Club, and was a volunteer for 25 years for The Winsted Blood Drive.

Margie is survived by her siblings: Elizabeth Joyner of Bloomington, Theresa (James) Sexton of Delano, Bryan “Butch” Cafferty of Brainerd, Catherine (Brad) Wiggins of Victoria, Rosemary Cafferty, and Alan (JoLynn) Cafferty, all of Winsted, and Julia (Allyn) Mann of Kansas City; a brother-in-law: Kenneth Otto; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Kenny Kritzeck, Dec. 15, 1999; father, Bryan Cafferty, May 14, 2006; mother, Eleanore Cafferty, Sept. 6, 2015; infant twin sister, Mary Ann; brother, Lawrence “Larry” Cafferty; sister, Delores Otto; sister-in-law, Dianne Cafferty; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Nellie Kritzeck.
