Deloris Viola Seemann, age 98, of Glencoe, MN, formerly of Lester Prairie, MN, passed away Friday, April 24, 2020, at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe at the age of 98 years, 2 months and 24 days.
Deloris Viola Seemann was born Jan. 31, 1922, in Bergen Township, Lester Prairie, MN. She was the daughter of Arthur and Malinda (Schmaltz) Seemann.
Deloris was baptized as an infant Jan. 31, 1922, at her home and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth April 25, 1936, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.
Deloris grew up on her family farm in Bergen Township. She graduated from Lester Prairie High School as valedictorian of her class.
She then made her home in Minneapolis and would come home often by greyhound bus on the weekends. Deloris worked at Lutheran Brotherhood in the insurance business for 35 years, retiring March 6, 1987.
After retiring, Deloris moved to Glencoe, to help care for her mother. She was a life-long member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.
Deloris enjoyed reading, bible studies, knitting, crocheting, and traveling. She treasured the time spent with her family and friends.
Deloris is survived by her sister-in-law, Lorraine Seemann of Waconia, MN; brothers-in-law, Verndale Selchow of Lester Prairie, MN, and Ruben Ernst of Glencoe, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Malinda Seemann; sisters, Bernice Ernst and LorJean Selchow; and a brother, Clarence Seemann.
A private family graveside service was held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lester Prairie. Pastor Joshua Arndt officiated.
