Joseph M. Seemann, 55

Joseph Mark Seemann, age 55, of Dassel, died Friday, June 20, 2020, at the Augustana Lakeside Health Care Center of Dassel.

A memorial service will take place on a later date at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel, with the interment of the urn at the St. John’s of New Rome Cemetery, Sibley County.

Joseph Mark Seemann, the son of Kenneth and Virginia (Rudolph) Seemann, was born Nov. 7, 1964, in Gaylord. Joseph was baptized at the American Lutheran Church in Gaylord and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington. He was a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel at the time of his death.

Joseph grew up in Gaylord until 1971, when the family moved to Arlington where in 1982, he graduated from Arlington High School. Joseph continued his education by attending Ridgewater College in Hutchinson, where he obtained a degree in Non-Destructive Metal Testing.

Joe was employed for 16 years by Progress Casting in Plymouth, and was also employed for a few years in Creston, IA.

He enjoyed spending time fishing and was an active member of the Gaylord Game Protective League, Hutchinson Bowling League, and enjoyed golfing at the Cokato, Watertown, and Winthrop Golf Courses.

Joe was a private person who enjoyed spending time with his close friends and family. He loved the times that he and his father would go to auctions together.

He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Virginia Seemann of Dassel; siblings, Susan (Keith) Liljenberg of Monticello, and Ray Seemann and his significant other, Doni Adams of Oakdale. He is also survived by several other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
