Christopher Paul Uecker, age 38, of Blue Earth passed away late Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020, from complications of pneumonia at United Hospital District in Blue Earth, MN.
Chris was born March 24, 1982 in Glencoe, MN to David Uecker and Mavis Scheid. Chris was baptized at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Glencoe, April 18, 1982. He was confirmed at Salem United Methodist Church in Blue Earth. Chris attended Blue Earth Area High School and graduated in 2000.
He married Gwen Stauffer in 2003, and that union was blessed with two daughters, Brandi and Elizabeth.
Chris was a loving father who always attended his daughters’ sporting events. Chris loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and playing disc golf. He loved to have long conversations and was always up for a good game of cribbage. Throughout his life he worked a variety of jobs; McDonalds, Subway, JM Manufacturing, Olson Dairy, and Wiltse Tree Service.
He is survived by his daughters Brandi and Elizabeth Uecker; parents David (Julie) Uecker, and Mavis Scheid, and Steven Scheid; siblings Nicholas (Crystal) Uecker, Megan (Aaron) Goshorn, Nathan (BreeAnne) Scheid, KayLynn (Jarin) Smith, and Travis Uecker; grandmothers; Mildred Rettmann and Carol Adams; aunts and uncles; Jerry (Brenda) Uecker, Tom Graeff, Allan (Kathy) Uecker, LuAnn (Jerry) Moy, Bruce Uecker, Arvid Uecker, Barry (Peggy) Uecker, Susan (Craig) Leaf, Lyle (Karen) Rettmann, Joanne Winn, Mike Rettmann, Randy (Kathy) Adams, Suzann Adams, Gwen Mielke, and Merre Kilvin; mother of his children Gwen Stauffer Meyer; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Chris was proceeded in death by his grandparents Eldon and Lillian Uecker, Erwin Rettmann, Elvera Uecker, Don and June Scheid, and Willard Adams; aunts and uncles; Kathy Uecker, Jan Graeff, Katie Sakal, David Adams; and cousin KariAnn Uecker.
A private family burial was held Monday, April 20, at Rice Lake cemetery of rural Delevan, MN, with Rev. Russ Jacobsen officiating. A memorial service in honor of Chris will be held at a later date.
