Elda Elise Agnes (Koerschen) Westermann, age 92, of Lester Prairie, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe.
There has been private family interment, and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Elda was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Norwood, the daughter of Gerhard and Magdalena (Hoof) Koerschen. She was raised by Jacob and Gertrude Koerschen.
Elda was baptized as an infant in 1928, at Friedens (County Line) Church UCC in rural Norwood Young America; and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Evangelical UCC, now Prairie Community Church in Lester Prairie.
Elda received her education in Lester Prairie, graduating with the Lester Prairie High School class of 1947.
She was united in marriage to Marvin Walter Westermann Nov. 14, 1947, by the Rev. Walter Fischer at Evangelical UCC, now Prairie Community Church in Lester Prairie. Elda and Marvin made their home in Lester Prairie, and their marriage was blessed with three children; Gertrude “Trudy,” Scott, and Polly.
Elda and Marvin shared over 66 years of marriage until Marvin passed away Oct. 31, 2014.
A loving wife, mother, and homemaker, Elda was an active member of Prairie Community Church. As her ministry to the church, she proudly served on the Women’s Guild. She was also a member of the Minnesota Chapter of the American Bell Association.
Elda enjoyed collecting bells, and salt and pepper mills. She also loved to travel, which included trips to most US states and multiple cruises.
She treasured the time spent with her family and friends.
Elda is survived by her son, Scott Westermann and his wife, Cyndi, of Brooklyn Park; daughter Polly Gammon and her husband, Steve, of Chanhassen; granddaughter Kristel Hilts and her husband, Shaun, of Des Moines, IA; great-grandchildren Tatiana and Cole Hilts; step brother Gerald Koerschen and his wife, Gloria, of California; nephews; nieces; other relatives, and many friends.
In addition to husband, Marvin, Elda was preceded in death by her parents, Gerhard and Magdalena Koerschen; Jacob and Gertrude Koerschen, who raised her; and a daughter, Gertrude “Trudy” Westermann.
