Daniel Abbott, 72

Daniel B. Abbott passed away Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones, in Puyallup, WA. His family is saddened and his loss will be deeply felt.

Honoring Dan’s wishes, a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Dan was born April 3, 1949, in Hutchinson.

He graduated from Dassel High School in 1967. He went on to graduate from Ridgwater College in 1969. He then attended Mankato University and graduated in 1971.

Dan served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1979.

He completed his schooling at Knapp College, where he also became a part of the faculty.

He was a dedicated, hard worker. Dan worked as a security guard for Allied Universal, and had other careers throughout his life. He was also a Gedeon Chaplain at the Puyallup Camp and enjoyed sharing his love for Jesus, and was dedicated in sharing the Word of God with others.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Denora Abbott; and his daughters, Toka Knodel, Amy Rodney, Stephanie Vanderhoff; sisters, Dayna McKimm, Susan Moe, LuAnn Weseloh; grandchildren, Stevie Knodel, Danielle Knodel, Neshaun Abbott-Rodney, Tatiana Abbott-Rodney, Gyan Abbott-Rodney, Jacob Smith, and Katelynn Vanderhoff.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Norma Abbott.
