Enie Booton Obituary – 5/4/2021


Enie Booton passed away May 4, 2021, in Mt. Pleasant, IA at 83 years of age.

Enie Booton, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha Harmelink, was born Nov. 1, 1937, in Sioux County, IA.

At an early age, Enie moved to Jackson, MN, where she graduated high school.

Enie was united in marriage to Ron Booton in Sioux Falls, SD, Nov. 28, 1959.

They made their home in Milford until moving to Arnolds Park, IA in 1998.

Enie worked as a bank teller at First Bank & Trust for 40 years, where she made lifelong friends. She was a member of the Good News Community Church in Okoboji.

Ron and Enie were honored as Grand Marshals in the 2006 Pioneer Days Parade.

In her free time, Enie enjoyed playing bingo (back in the day), sitting on her deck looking at the lake, and spending time with family.

Grandma Enie’s greatest joy was her grandchildren and attending their many sporting events.

Enie is survived by her son, Kirby (Angie) Booton of Mt. Pleasant, IA; daughter, Kristi (Jim) O’Neill of Delano; sister, Bev Tischler of Jackson, MN; grandchildren, Natalie (Sam) Taylor; Haley (Thayne) McElhinney; Riley (Lindsy) Larson; Keegan, Terron; and Kallon O’Neill; great-grandchildren, Bowen and Jackson Taylor; and Cayden, Nolen, and Graysen Larson.

Enie was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Booton; parents, Joe and Bertha Harmelink; brother, Jerry Harmelink, and sister, Edna Bezdicek.

A memorial service for Enie took place Saturday, May 8, at Good News Community Church in Okoboji.

Interment was at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Okoboji.

There was a Celebration Gathering at Emerald Hills Golf Course in Arnolds Park following interment.

Memorials given to the family will be donated to Enie’s favorite charities.

Turner Jenness Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
