Duane K. Engelman, age 80, of Rosemount, MN, passed away Jan. 2, 2021.
Visitation will take place Saturday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m., with funeral service at 11 a.m. Both will take place at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 151 Co. Rd. 42 E, Burnsville, MN.

Duane was born March 8, 1940, in Howard Lake, MN. He attended St. James Parochial School and was confirmed in 1954. He graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1958.
Duane married Darlene Krueger April 11, 1959. He graduated from Brown Institute in 1962, and worked on-air and in sales for radio stations in the Greater Minnesota, Duluth, and Twin Cities areas.
He was a news man during the JFK assassination, interviewed the Beatles, and covered the 1967 riots, where his KDWB News Cruiser was destroyed by a Molotov cocktail. He later left radio and worked in various sales and advertising positions, before retiring in 2005.
Duane was very active in retirement, walking several miles each day at local lakes or the Mall of America, making friends along the way.
He loved life, his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He attended all of their sporting and recreational events, being their greatest fan. He was active in his church and attended weekly Bible studies for many years.
Duane is survived by Darlene, his wife of 61 years; sons, Doug (Carolyn) Engelman, and Dean (Cheryl) Engelman; and his daughter, Denise (Brent) Starnes; grandchildren, Jason (Christa) Starnes, Courtney (fiancé Drew) Starnes, Anne, Alex (Kyle) Monjeau, Leah (Randall) Porter, Melissa (Ben) Coleman, and Grace; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Brayden; sisters, Rosalie, Rosemarie (Jim), and Janice (Steve); and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Bernice; and brothers, Chester, Erland, and Filmore.
