Sandra Klaustermeier, 79

Sandra L. “Sandy” Klaustermeier, age 79, of New Germany, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Sandy was born Nov. 27, 1942, in Watertown, the daughter of Melroy and LaVerna (Schmidt) Mielke.

Sandy was united in marriage May 5, 1962, to Harlan Klaustermeier at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany.

Sandy grew up on the family farm.  She worked as a house cleaner for many years and took pride in her work and home.  Her house was always tidy and she was a tremendous cook. 

In her leisure, Sandy was an avid reader, enjoyed watching Hallmark movies and traveling with her friend, Gladys Dillard. 

She loved time spent with her family, especially going to the Lost Valley Resort in Detroit Lakes. 

Sandy was loving and tender, delightfully doting on her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and fur babies.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan; parents, Melroy and LaVerna Mielke; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hugo and Irene Klaustermeier.

Sandy is survived by her loving family: sons, John (Georgianna) Klaustermeier of Baudette, Joel Klaustermeier and Karen Kosek of Norwood Young America, Jason (Angie) Klaustermeier of Big Lake; grandchildren, Nicole (James) Fiala, John Klaustermeier and special friend Tori, Marcus Klaustermeier, Martin Klaustermeier and fiancée Jess, Mynyanna Klaustermeier, Malik Klaustermeier, Timothy Klaustermeier and fiancée Danny, Andrew (Katsy) Klaustermeier, Sam (Denyal) Klaustermeier, Anthony Frederickson; great-grandchildren, Christian, April, Isabelle, Daniel, Raegen, Carlos, Esme, Bentley, Jack, Seanix, Emmett, Charlotte, Loretta; brother Duane (Theresa) Mielke of New Germany; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service took place Friday, Dec. 10, 2021 at 11 a.m.. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 500 Broadway Street East in New Germany, with Rev. Mark Loder and Vicar Aaron Beckman as officiants.  Visitation took place one hour prior to the service Friday at church.  Interment took place at St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery.

Casket bearers were her grandchildren.
