Ethel Larson, 101

Ethel Larson of Eden Prairie, formerly of Dassel, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021.

A private memorial service will take place later, with interment of the urn at the Dassel Community Cemetery.

The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is handling arrangements.

Ethel Elizabeth Anderson was born November 26, 1919, to S. Philip and Hilda Anderson. Ethel grew up and lived in Dassel most of her life. Ethel graduated from Dassel High in 1939.

Ethel married Harvey Larson Jan. 14, 1943. Harvey was in the Army currently, so their first home was in Fort Riley, KS.

After the war, they made their home in Dassel, and Harvey went to work for Fred Growth at the Red and White grocery store.

In later years, Harvey bought the Red and White store and Ethel and Harvey ran the store until selling in 1976.

Ethel was involved with the American Legion Auxiliary during her lifetime. Ethel and Harvey were members at the First Lutheran Church (Gethsemane Lutheran Church). Ethel enjoyed bowling, and her team was league champion many times.

Ethel was preceded in death by parents, S. Philip and Hilda Anderson; husband, Harvey; grandsons, Jeffrey, Adam; son-in-law, Dennis; daughters-in-law, Sue Larson and Wendy Larson.

She is survived by daughter, Vicki Beaudry of Las Vegas; sons, Brad (Jocelyn) Larson of Lexington, NE, Brian Larson of Eden Prairie; along with seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
