Thomas Lemmerman, 62

Thomas R. Lemmerman, age 62, of Delano, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Thomas was born April 24, 1959, the son of Ernest and Mary (Gerber) Lemmerman.

Tom was a builder. He built a company, Lemmerman Construction, with his wife, Kris. He built countless homes, churches, and communities, so people could build lives of their own. He built his own home, and barn (twice), in Delano. Strongest of all, he built his family.

To his family and so many others, Tom was safety and he was comfort. He was everywhere you needed him to be. His eyes, smile, laugh, and hug were everything. To know him was to be brightened and to be near him was to be warmed.

Tom’s generosity knew no bounds.

He was endlessly creative and curious. He made beautiful homes and cooked wonderful meals. No matter who showed up unexpectedly for dinner, somehow there was always enough.

He wrote notes to his people in all capital letters, and if you fell asleep, before long you would be covered in a warm blanket. He was a playful and loving grandfather to his grandkids, and he loved being their Opa.

He was strong, in every way.

He loved fishing and cooking. He loved researching and was the deepest of thinkers. He loved naps, playing games with his family, and watching cartoons with his grandchildren.

And he loved cheese. He really loved cheese.

His family and friends loved him, and he loved them in return. He was incomparable, and he will be missed more than words can describe.

He was the best of men, the best of husbands, and the best of fathers.

He is loved.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lemmerman, Nov. 18, 2021.

Thomas is survived by his loving family: wife, Kris; children, Dana (Michael) Wray of Delano, Jordan (Vanessa) Lemmerman of Watertown, Evan Lemmerman and Ellie Moonen of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Ella and Quinn Wray, Kyle and Mayva Lemmerman; mother, Mary Lemmerman of Delano, brothers, David (Linda) Lemmerman of New Germany, Joe (Patti) Lemmerman of Delano; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Rosewitha Seltz of Hutchinson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jonathan Seltz and Mari Good of Belize, Marty and Tara Seltz of Mayer; dearest friends, Jim and Sonja Tilbury of Corcoran; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service took place at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at Light Of Christ Lutheran Church, 3976 County Line Road SE in Delano. A gathering of family and friends took place at the church from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service.
