Tim Munson, 69

After a decade struggling with Parkinson’s disease, Tim Munson of Howard Lake passed away at Good Samaritan in Howard Lake Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021. He had reached the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 24 days.

Tim was born Dec. 4, 1951, to Roger and Lois Munson of Howard Lake.

He was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church of Howard Lake. He attended parochial school at St. James and high school at Howard Lake and Cokato.

Tim didn’t talk much, but he smiled easily and was considered a friend by most everyone who knew him.

Tim’s work history includes farming, being a janitor at Mayer Lutheran High School, assisting Swanson Peterson, driving bus for Mayer Lutheran, and working at Dura Supreme.

Tim was an avid sports fan, supporting the Minnesota Twins and Vikings; the high school teams of Howard Lake and Mayer; and was most dedicated to the Howard Lake Orphans baseball team. The Orphans honored their number-one fan declaring July 18, 2014 “Tim Munson Day.”

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Lois Munson.

Tim’s memory lives on in his friends and family: brothers and spouses Allan and Donna Munson (Howard Lake) and Randall and Sharon Munson (Rochester and Redington Beach, FL); nieces and nephews: Aaron and Liz Munson (Duluth); Jenny and Neil Wikoff (Howard Lake); Corey and Michele Munson (Waverly); Russel and Allie Munson (Fridley); Sheryl and Jeremy Vold (Rochester); and Scott and Amy Munson (St. Paul).

Tim’s funeral service took place at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, with visitation at the church one hour prior to services. Interment followed at Howard Lake Cemetery.
