John Herman Oeffling, age 78, of Delano, MN, formerly of Loretto and St. Bonifacius, MN, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place Saturday, Jan. 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to Mass at the church. Interment will be at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.He was born May 4, 1942, to Peter and Rose (Klonne) Oeffling in Loretto, MN.
John was a hard-working farmer, a devoted Catholic man, and a John Deere enthusiast. He also loved to hunt and fish.
John was very kind, and had a special place in his heart for animals. He was always cheerful, with an infectious laugh.
John also worked hard as a scrapper, sanitation worker, and tow truck operator.
John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Dennis; brothers-in-law, Dewey Anderson and Nolan Kusilek; nephews, Dan Anderson, Dale Ledstrom, and John “Johnna” Tolbet.
He is survived by his sisters, Lorraine (Ron) Hartneck, Marjorie Kusilek Dalbec (friend Roger Swierkowski), Marie (Henry) Dubay, and Carolyn Anderson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
