Jo was born Nov. 23, 1944, in Paducah, KY, to Van Dursen and Carolyn (Lemon) Harms. She graduated high school in Homewood, IL as a National Merit Scholar Winner. She continued her studies at Purdue University, where she met her future husband, William Radzwill. Jo completed her bachelor’s degree at St. Cloud State University, in St. Cloud, MN.

Jo and Bill were united in marriage, Aug. 15, 1964. The couple were blessed with four children, and made their home in Cokato, MN.

After 27 years, the marriage dissolved, and she relocated to Minneapolis, MN, her home for 20 years. Jo worked as a data analyst for St. Mary’s/Fairview Hospital.

In that time, she returned to school and earned a masters degree in business administration from Cardinal Stritch University. “Way to go Mom!” rang out in the auditorium as she received her diploma. Jo was a smart lady.

At 71 years old, Jo traveled to Mexico to celebrate her niece’s wedding, where she was able to utilize her high school Spanish, which she studied 53 years prior.

Jo loved spending time with her family and bestowed on them the truest examples of kindness, patience, loyalty, and unconditional love.

In her younger days, Jo helped with her children’s Cub Scout, Brownie, and Girl Scout Troops, and served on the Dassel-Cokato School Board. She volunteered with the Minnesota DFL, served on the Marcy Holmes Neighborhood Development Board, and was a member of the Minneapolis Ski Club.

Jo appreciated art, especially pottery, and learned to paint and throw pottery herself. She had a talent for quilting, sewing, and needlepoint, and cherished time spent enjoying the wonders of nature. Yet, her favorite pastime was attending all of her grandkids’ school, sporting, and music events.

Johanna will remain in the hearts of her children, Kristina (John) DeLaundreau, Kirk (Sheri Holm) Radzwill, Mark (Jessica) Radzwill, Kathy (Mark) Manninen; grandchildren, Maria (Sarah), Michelle, Aaron, Jennifer, Kate (Brittany), Kilee, McCabe, Isabella, Hannah, Henry, Jack, Ty, and Lucy; also known as “Grandma Jo” to Sarah and Anna; siblings, Jan (Karen) Harms, Doug (Jane) Harms, Barbara (Dan) Taylor; many loved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Van and Carolyn Harms; and former husband, Bill Radzwill.
