Myron W. Schuette Obituary – 3/17/2021


Myron W. “Mike” Schuette, 87, of Mayer passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Myron “Mike” William Schuette was born Jan. 2, 1934, in New Germany, the son of William and Ida (Domjahn) Schuette. He was baptized Jan. 26, 1934, and confirmed March 21, 1948 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany.

Mike was united in marriage to Eldoras (Kohls) Schuette Oct. 2, 1981, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer.

After graduating from high school, Mike served in the Army as a heavy equipment operator. He farmed and worked in construction for many years.

In his younger years, Mike loved to go dancing and he played saxophone in the Ivan Kahle Band. He was fond of watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Mike also enjoyed fishing and playing cribbage.

Mike was a great man of faith who read his Bible every day. His greatest treasure was his family, and he adored his dogs. Mike was a fun-loving person and a jokester. He was a delight to all who knew him, and will be greatly missed.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ida Schuette.

Mike is survived by his loving family: wife Eldoras; children Marlene (Robert) Jopp of Mayer, Marilyn (Larry) Kassulker of Mayer, Mardonna (Gary) Nelson of McGregor, Renee (Randy) Jopp of St. Bonifacius, and Michael (Amy) Schuette of Waseca; grandchildren Alan (Teresa) Jopp, Aaron (Michelle) Jopp, Shari Kassulker, Laura (Jeff) Pike, Dawn (Andrew) Schultz, Ashley (John) Thomas, Kelly Nelson, Adam Jopp, Sarah Jopp and fiance Galo, Rachel (Wes) Ruggles, Beth Jopp, Breanna (Bryan) Felske, Felicia (Ben) Lamont, Cody Schuette and special friend, Lyssa, and Callie Schuette; great-grandchildren Alison, Kylie, Sloan, Bodhi, Ayden, Ezra, Isaiah, Henry, Jackson, Logan and Summer; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Loren (Susie) Kohls of Delano, Erna Schuette of Glencoe, Darlene Neisen of Montrose; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service took place Saturday, March 20, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer, with Rev. Tom Colgrove as officiant. Visitation took place from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at church. Interment was at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Mayer.

Casket bearers were Alan Jopp, Aaron Jopp, Adam Jopp, Cody Schuette, Bryan Felske, and Ben Lamont.

Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
