Harold honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a proud veteran.

Harold enjoyed going out for coffee and meals at the Waverly Café with family and friends. He was even made famous for it on the news. He loved going to the casino, and watching wildlife, especially deer and turkeys that would frequent his front yard.

He had a passion for the plant life in the woods and raised his ginseng and goldenseal for sale. He also sold pelts and turtles from his passion for trapping.

He was an inventor, a prospector, a fisherman, and a hunter. He found out what he loved to do and called it work. However, most of all he loved storytelling and spending time with people he held dear.

Harold is survived by a brother, LeRoy (Selma) Swanson of Buffalo; nephews and nieces, Gerald (Joyce) Erickson, John (Stephanie) Swanson, Lori Swanson, Nancy (Galan) Peterson, Linda (Barry) Brobeck; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Grace Erickson, Doris Stumpf, Laurella Vieau, Ruby Stumpf, and their spouses; brothers, Vernie Swanson, Marvin Swanson, Alvin Swanson, and Kenneth Swanson.
