Scott Dallman Obituary – 1/27/2022


Scott Francis Dallman of Cokato, age 63, passed away surrounded by loved ones Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at St. Cloud Hospital, from COVID-19 complications.

A visitation for family and friends will take place Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, from 10:30 to 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of life service starting 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Cokato.

The service will be available via Zoom for those who want to attend virtually. The link is on the church website.

Masks are required for those attending in person, and the family asks that those who are sick or feeling ill not to attend in person.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

He was born July 25, 1958, in Robbinsdale, MN, the son of Curtis and Irene (Voita) Dallman.

He grew up in several places in Minnesota and Kansas, until settling in Annandale, MN in 1973.

He attended Annandale High School, graduating in 1976. He furthered his education at St. Cloud State University, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in computer science in 1982.

After obtaining his degree, he worked in IT for over 30 years.

He later pursued nursing at Saint Paul College, where he received a practical nursing diploma in 2017. He then pursued his associate’s degree in audio-video systems technology at Ridgewater College and received his degree in 2020.

When he lived in St. Cloud, he met Marlene Vos. The couple married in 1983, moved to Cokato, and had three beautiful children. He and Marlene divorced in 2006, but Scott remained in the Cokato community.

Scott faithfully attended First Baptist Church in Cokato. He was always hungry to learn more about God’s word, always asking questions to understand more. John 8:32. Scott was patient, supportive, caring, and compassionate.

He was a man of many interests, including being a Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts of America, buying and installing computers and other electronics, fixing cars, listening to music, flying his private plane, and spending time with his family and friends.

Scott is survived by his children, Nicole (Kamaljeet) Sandhu, of Malden, MA, Jacob Dallman (fiancée Anne Towner), of Cokato; four siblings, Mark Dallman, Cari Kestrel, Diane McElroy, Greg (Da) Dallman; nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Dallman (1991), father, Curtis (2001), ex-wife, Marlene Serfling (2016), and mother, Irene (2018).
