John Alfred Fasching, 88, of Winsted, MN, passed away Aug. 19, 2022.
An avid fisherman, he decided to see how the bass was biting on that big lake in the sky.
Jack, as many knew him, was a Minnesota native born in Winsted Sept. 5, 1933, to a farming family of 12 children. He attended Holy Trinity high school and the University of Minnesota.
He married Bernadine in 1959, and even with his own young family, he became the guardian to his four nieces and nephews after his brother’s untimely passing. He was eventually lured away to warmer Southern California.
He had quite a resume: veteran of the Korean War, computer company executive, entrepreneur, and business broker.
His four children, plus his eight grandchildren and many other relatives, will miss his sarcastic wit, steady guidance, and curious nature.
In his later years, he focused on documenting his family’s history, writing 10 detailed books, and enjoying his grandchildren’s many activities.
We want to thank Dad/Baba/Grandpa/Uncle Jack for the history you gave us.
