Richard Hendrickson, 70

Richard “Dick” Lee Hendrickson, age 70, of Dassel, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2022, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

A graveside service will take place Saturday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m., at Lake Arvilla Cemetery in rural Dassel, with Pastor Mark Koivisto officiating.

A visitation will take place tonight, Friday evening, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in rural Dassel.

Richard “Dick” Lee Hendrickson, the son of Levi and Edna (Hasti) Hendrickson, was born March 7, 1952, in Litchfield.

Richard grew up in the Dassel area. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in rural Dassel.

Richard graduated from Dassel High School in 1970, and continued his education by attending Hutchinson Vocational Technical School, where he was educated as a tool and die maker.

Richard was united in marriage to Joyce Niska Oct. 18, 1975, in Virginia, MN.

Together they made their home in rural Dassel. He was employed by CTS in Cokato for 35 years. He had also been employed at Spectralytics in Dassel for several years before his retirement.

Richard loved to spend time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

He had volunteered for several years to coach wrestling and football. He loved to socialize and visit with friends and family.

He could start up a conversation with anyone, and find out that they had a friend in common.

His wife, children, and grandchildren were the loves of his life, and he will be dearly missed by everyone.

Richard is survived by his wife, Joyce Hendrickson of Dassel; children, Christopher (Jane) Hendrickson of Shorewood, Matthew (Shantel) Hendrickson of Rockville, Aaron (Shannon) Hendrickson of Stockholm, Anita (Steven) Hermanson of Traprock Valley, MI, Alan (Teija) Hendrickson of Cokato, and Jacob (Paige) Hendrickson of Stockholm; 20 grandchildren: Spencer, Conner, Leah, Alexa and Grant Hermanson; and Wyatt, Cora, Carson, Charlotte, Logan, Colton, Clayton, Mason, Sofianna, Aubrey, Wesley, Lillian, George, Reid, and Molly Hendrickson. Siblings: David (Katie) Hendrickson of Dassel; Mary (Peter) Hendrickson of Menahga, Virginia (Paul) Keranen of Dassel; and John (Connie) Hendrickson of Cokato. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Edna Hendrickson, and an infant brother.
