Bernard Quast, 87

Bernard Edwin “Bernie” Quast, age 87, of Winsted, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

A private family service will take place at a later date.

He was born April 30, 1934, in Winsted, the son of August and Anna (Neumann) Quast.

Bernie honorably served his country in the United States Army.

Bernard E. Quast and Margaret A. Bebo were joined in holy marriage Aug. 2, 1958, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with five children.

Bernie was a truck driver for many years for Quast Transfer.

He enjoyed watching and working in the concessions stand for the Winsted Wildcats baseball team for many years. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many friends and family.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret A. “Margie” Quast; children, Kevin (Mary) Quast, David (Sheila) Quast, Karen Quast, Connie Quast (David Hirsch), and Shari (John) Zander; grandchildren, Cory (Trista) Quast, Tim (Jamie) Zander, Jake (Hallie) Zander, Eric (Elise) Quast, Amanda (Nick) Rasmussen, Nathan (Catalina) Michaels, Leah (Nicholas) Ramberg, Eric (Chinyere) Michaels; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence (Elaine) Quast; sisters, Irene Rozeske, Marian Moy, Laurina Zajicek, Jeanette Stock, Rose Lindenberger, Dianne Smith, Lois Gohring, and Josephine Hagstrom; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Anna Quast; and siblings, Paul, Leander, Joseph, Marcella, Elizabeth, Donna May, Caroline, Celina, and Raymond.
