Ryan Ide, 48

Ryan Vernon Ide, 48, of Glencoe, MN, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 5:18 a.m.

He had reached the age of 48 years, 11 months, and 11 days.

Ryan Vernon Ide was born April 24, 1974, in Glencoe. He was the son of Vernon and Edna (Busch) Ide.

Ryan was baptized as an infant May 12, 1974, at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, MN, by Pastor Harold A. Bode.

He was later confirmed in his faith as a youth May 1, 1988, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie by Paster Steven C. Vaudt. His confirmation verse was Habakkuk 3:18-19a.

He received his education through the eighth grade at Lester Prairie Public School before attending Glencoe High School until graduation in 1992.

Ryan was united in marriage to Julie Ann Kohls July 26, 2014, by Pastor Daniel Welch at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. 

Ryan and Julie made their home on the Ide Family Farm, north of Glencoe. Their marriage was blessed with one child, George Ryan Busch Ide.

Farming was Ryan’s life.  He was always thinking of ways to improve his farm and hoping to carry on the legacy to his son, George.

Ryan was larger than life. He loved family gatherings and spending time with friends. Ryan enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, Disney World, and Hawaii. Ryan loved riding his motorcycle, four-wheeler, Jet Ski, and any kind of tractor as long as it was a Case.

His other hobbies included deer hunting, collecting rifles, and butchering and processing his own meat. He looked forward to his weekends up at Brainerd International Raceway and  volunteering with the CRA.

Ryan loved his community and was proud to be serving as the township supervisor for Bergen Township, MN.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Julie Ide of Glencoe; a son, George Ide of Glencoe; sisters, Teresa (Jeff) Brelje of Glencoe and Faye (Curtis II) Anderson of Bemidji, MN; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Craig and Rosalind Kohls of St. Cloud, MN; sisters-in-law, Katherine (Michael) Meyer of Victorvile, CA, and Christine (Travis) Bonovsky of Brooklyn Center, MN; nieces and nephews, Ariel, Austin, Curtis III, Rory, Elizabeth, Emily, and Andrew; as well as other relatives and friends.

Ryan was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Edna Ide.

A visitation took place Monday, April 10, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, MN. A prayer service took place at 7:30 p.m. Further visitation took place Tuesday, April 11, one hour prior to services at the church.

A funeral service for Ryan Vernon Ide took place Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.

Interment followed at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Lester Prairie.

In lieu of flowers, Ryan has asked a donation be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church elevator fund in Lester Prairie.
