Dennis M. Jacobson, 87, of Delano, MN, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023.
Dennis was born March 19, 1936, to Norman and Adeline (McGowan). He was raised in Wayzata, MN, graduating in 1954 from Wayzata High School.
He attended the Minnesota School of Business. He was an Army veteran, former FMC/NOD benefits clerk, and postal employee.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents and a multitude of relatives and friends.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (Jordan); children: son, Charles (Ann Wartman), and daughter, Rachel; and grandchild, Carli Schmidt (Scott and Nadine Schmidt).
Dennis was a lover of all things history, especially of the Lake Minnetonka area. He served at one time as president of the Plymouth Historical Society, and could be counted on to always help figure out family genealogy.
Dennis believed in being of service to others, and he could be found volunteering in his community with his wife Betty.
A Mass of Christian burial took place Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, 11 a.m., at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Delano, St. Peter campus.
A rosary and visitation took place one hour prior to the service, with graveside service immediately following at the Calvary Cemetery in Delano. A luncheon at St. Joseph campus dining hall followed the graveside service.
Memorials are preferred to your local food bank or historical preservation project.
Arrangements are by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
