Michael Bruce Johnson, 80, of Dassel, MN, died Thursday, February 23, 2023, in Howell, MI.
A funeral service took place Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Dassel, MN. The interment took place at the Cokato Finnish Cemetery following the service.
There was a visitation Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in rural Dassel, and one hour prior to the service at the church as well.
The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
Michael Bruce Johnson was born Oct. 21, 1942, in Laurium, MI, the son of George and Impie Johnson.
He married Judith Helen Heinonen Sept. 21, 1963.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Impie Johnson; father-in-law, Matt Heinonen; mother-in-law, Edna Heinonen; brothers, Robert, David, Daniel, Peter, and Philip Johnson; sisters-in-law, Agnes, Delores, Carol, and Pearl Johnson; brothers-in-law, John Heinonen and William Niemi; and grand-daughter, Lisa Ylitalo.
Michael leaves behind his wife, Judith Johnson; his nine children, Gary (Joanne) Johnson of Milford, MI, Edward (Lorna) Johnson of Howell, Marijane (Charles) Pennala of Howell, Rebecca (Thomas) Kangas of Howell, Lynn (Bruce) Ylitalo of Cokato, MN, Jennifer (Kenneth) Tormanen of Dassel, Fred (Molly) Johnson of Dassel, Janet (Randy) Niska of Cokato, and Vicky (Nathan) Aho of Dassel; 83 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren; siblings, Paul (Judy) Johnson and Mark Johnson; brothers-in-law, Gordon (Marilyn) Heinonen and Fred (Anne) Heinonen; sisters-in-law, Mary (Peter) Kiilunen, Ann Niemi, Nancy (Donald) Tulkki, Jean (Chuck) Aho, and Linda (Joe) Kilpela; numerous nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
