Joseph Schlueter, 20

Joseph “Joey” Donald Schlueter, 20, of Windom, MN, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, at Windom Area Health.

He was born Nov. 23, 2002, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Bradley Joseph Schlueter and Jennifer Lynn Larson.

Joey was baptized at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, MN, Sept. 12, 2004.

Joey loved family, and he loved when everyone got together and shared stories and laughter. Whenever he got invited to go somewhere fun, you didn’t need to ask him twice.

Joey had many great friends whom he loved. He got to do more in his life than some people ever dream of. He loved having bonfires with his friends and doing things with them.

One of the things Joey liked was camping. He was a master at setting the camper up. He loved old cars, going places in his truck, swimming, dirt bikes, four-wheeling, video gaming, YouTube, looking at recipes, Japanese anime, fishing and boating, and country music.

Joey was a friendly, kind, and peaceful soul who showed respect and shared happiness. He was an optimistic dreamer.

Even though he had many health issues, he enjoyed life to the fullest and always kept that smile. He received a double lung/heart transplant Sept. 8, 2021.

He is survived by his father, Brad Schlueter; siblings, Darian Montury, MacKenzie Sturges Schlueter, and Jaxon Schlueter; grandfather, John Schlueter; grandmothers, Phyllis Larson and Julie Schlueter; an uncle, Chris (Jenni) Schlueter; and stepchildren, Kaylee and Elizabeth.
