Gerald Wiese, 65

Gerald Kenneth Wiese, 65, of Rockford, MN, died peacefully Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at his home.

He was taken from us way too soon.

Jerry was born in Cleveland, OH, in 1957, and moved with his family to Winona, MN, New Brighton, MN, Brooklyn Park, MN, and Brooten, MN, where he graduated from high school.

From there, he moved to the Iron Range to work as a welder, where he met his wife and where his children, Anneka and Taylon, were born.

In later years, he worked in bridge construction, tree work, and other jobs around the state, and always took pride in doing the job right. But the most important part of his life was the outdoors – hunting, fishing, and camping were his passions. After his divorce, he settled in Rockford with his partner Kim and their dogs, where they enjoyed over 20 good years together. He will be remembered for his cooking skills, especially grilling, smoking, preparing wild game, his famous pies and cookie dough. He also had the ability to fix almost anything, a lively humor, quick wit, and generous spirit.

Jerry is survived by his loving partner, Kimberly; mother, Judith Christianson; children, Anneka Waldack and Taylon (Kayla) Wiese; and sister, Deborah (Tom Klein).

He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Wiese.

A private ceremony will take place at a later date.

Arrangements are by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, MN.
