LaMoyne L. Wolter, 86, of Shorewood, MN, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Chapel View Care Center in Hopkins, MN.
A funeral service took place Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 2 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church (77 2nd Ave. S) in Lester Prairie, MN, with Rev. Josh Arndt as officiant.
Visitation took place one hour prior to the service. Interment took place in the church cemetery.
LaMoyne L. Menth was born Nov. 7, 1936, in New Germany, MN, the daughter of Lloyd and Erna (Kohls) Menth.
She was baptized and later confirmed in the faith at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany.
LaMoyne was united in marriage to Dennis Wolter June 29, 1956, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany.
LaMoyne grew up on the family farm in New Germany. After marriage, she and Dennis moved to Excelsior, MN, then to Chanhassen, MN, before eventually settling in Shorewood.
LaMoyne worked in office administration for Prudential Insurance as well as Park Nicollet. She remained at Park Nicollet until retirement.
LaMoyne loved to be in the outdoors. She delighted in going for long walks and fishing trips up north, as well as watching and feeding the birds.
LaMoyne was easygoing and was adored by the neighborhood children. Family especially had her heart, and her grandchildren were her treasure. She was a wonderful person who was loved by many, especially her husband of nearly 67 years.
LaMoyne was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Erna Menth; son-in-law, Gary Coopman; brother, Curtis (Ella) Menth; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Anna Wolter; brother-in-law, Ralph Wolter; and sister-in-law, Darlene Gillete.
LaMoyne is survived by her loving family: husband, Dennis; children, Deb Wolter of Mankato, MN, Jon (Christine) Wolter of Lester Prairie, and Joe (Cheryl) Wolter of Excelsior; grandchildren, Caydin Wolter and fiancé Patrick Kunkel, Warren Wolter, and Carly Wolter; step-grandchildren, Marcy Coopman, Amanda Morrison, and Josh Morrison; step-great-grandchildren, Gracie Lynn and Aria Rose Reimer; brother, Bill (Zena) Menth of St. Bonifacius, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Casket bearers are LaMoyne’s grandchildren and Jerry Schultz.
